American Institute of Architects (AIA Houston)/Architecture Center Houston present the exhibition Animal Architecture Exhibition, on view January 19, 2012 - February 24, 2012.Opening Reception Thursday January 19, 2012, 5:30 7:00pm. Panel Discussion February 2, 2012 at 5:30pm. Architecture Center Houston presents an exhibition of the 2011 Animal Architecture Awards. Animal Architecture seeks projects that engage the lives, minds and behaviors of our alternate, sometimes familiar companion species - insects, birds, mammals, fish, and microorganisms - each one with unique ways of world-making. As our society re-examines its place in the global ecology, Animal Architecture explores how architecture can mediate and encourage new ways of species learning and benefiting from each other. On view concurrently with 20/20 Visions: Ten Years to Clarity. Architecture Center Houston is located downtown at 315 Capitol, Suite 120 on the corner of Bagby and Capitol. Parking is available in the Hobby Center parking garage located across the street with entrances on Rusk and Walker. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. ArCH exhibitions are free and open to the public.
