- Bellaire (Hana and Arthur Ginzbarg) Nature Discovery Center presents Adult Lectures For the Inquisitive Naturalist the First Wednesday of every month from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Wednesday, February 1, it's Bellaire Nature Discovery Center Adult Lecture: Lizards of the Houston Area with Eric Duran. FREE. Light refreshments are served. Join Nature Discovery Center staff naturalist Eric Duran for a fun and informative talk about the lizards of the Houston area. He'll present natural history and identification of lizards you may come into contact with in your yard or local wilderness area. Eric Duran is a Staff Naturalist at the Nature Discovery Center, where he teaches nature and science classes, leads hikes, and cares for the live animal collection. He has worked as a field biologist, educator, and wilderness guide from Ecuador to Alaska. Eric has harbored an intense fascination for reptiles and amphibians from the time he was old enough to walk.
