Jadenne's Guide to Houston Matcha
Our intern Jadenne Mayville is always on the hunt for a good matcha. As a Houston native and self-proclaimed café enthusiast, she's spent years trying spots across the city and has strong opinions on what makes one worth the trip. These are a few of her favorites.
Safe to say Jadenne has never met a matcha she wouldn't try, so here are the Houston spots she keeps coming back to.

"If I'm recommending one matcha spot to someone, it's probably La La Land. You really can't go wrong. The matcha is consistently good, the cafés are adorable, and it's one of my favorite places to stop if I want a cute photo while I'm out. My go-to order is the Matcha Squared, but if I'm feeling adventurous, I'll add lavender."

"First Cup feels like a hidden gem. It's cozy, calm, and one of my favorite places to slow down for a bit. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, like you're hanging out in a friend's living room. My go-to order is the Ube Matcha, and honestly, I think about it more than I should."

"Funny enough, one of my favorite matchas in Houston comes from Capital One Café. Their cardamom and ginger matcha latte is easily in my top three. It's the perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and there was a point where I got one seven days in a row. No regrets."
Location: The Woodlands
"Third Gen has one of my favorite matchas in Houston. I always order the honey lavender matcha, and somehow it's gone before I know it. The honey adds just the right amount of sweetness, the lavender isn't overpowering, and it's the kind of drink that keeps me coming back."
Location: The Heights
"Eden Plant Co. is probably my favorite matcha spot in Houston. The first time I tried their Golden Milk Matcha, it completely changed the game for me. I loved it so much that I ordered a second one to go before I even finished the first. Between the incredible drinks and the plant-filled space, it's one of those places that just feels like Houston."
